at the age of 14 she got offer to act in a film called " plus two" by cinematographer Rajarajan who was her neighbour.but that film did not get her in to popular. then she acted as supporting roles in films called "varnajalam" & "masala", then she went to acted in many itme songs. so the she got a good fame in Malayalam with the song "sona sona" in BEN JOHNSON.

In 2012 she changed her name form suja to suja varunee.
